Overview

As a Senior Director of Product for AI at Activefence, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the vision, roadmap, and execution of AI-driven solutions in the trust and safety space. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including data science, engineering, customer success, and compliance, to deliver advanced AI solutions that detect and mitigate harmful content across diverse media types. Leveraging your expertise in AI technologies and an acquired understanding of trust & safety needs, you will lead the development of cutting-edge models and detection capabilities, anticipating new risks while ensuring compliance, security, and the integrity of our platform. Your leadership will be essential in aligning teams around shared goals, driving innovation, and setting new standards for user safety.

As a Sr. Director Product, AI, you will:

  • Set and execute the roadmap for AI-based products, aligning product strategy with emerging technology trends like generative AI, NLP, and multimodal AI (text, image, video, audio).
  • Drive the development and scaling of AI-based products in close collaboration with R&D and data science teams.
  • Stay current with global regulations and compliance standards for content moderation (e.g., Digital Services Act), ensuring alignment with trust & safety frameworks.
  • Manage the development and deployment of AI/ML models to ensure high accuracy, minimized bias, and effective cross-media detection.
  • Define and track KPIs and success metrics, focusing on model performance and platform safety impact.
  • Oversee the continuous iteration and improvement of AI models based on performance metrics (accuracy, false positives, etc.).
  • Lead & Mentor a high-performing Product team, ensuring capacity and priorities are effectively managed.
  • Build strong relationships with enterprise clients and partners, ensuring feedback drives the roadmap and product direction.

Requirements

  • Proven technical expertise in AI/ML methodologies, supported by formal education (Bachelor’s or advanced degree) or equivalent industry experience.
  • Solid foundation in data science principles, statistical modeling, and machine learning.
  • Minimum of 10 years of product management experience focused on AI/ML-driven products at leading technology companies.
  • Strong relationship-building & communication skills (written and verbal, English) with enterprise clients and partners - a must.
  • Familiarity with advanced AI techniques, including supervised learning, adversarial training, and model interpretability.
  • Familiarity with large language models (LLMs), with an understanding of their application in detecting nuanced content risks across various media types. (plus)
