Role Overview
Clipwire Games is growing and looking for a Senior Illustrator to create high-quality, engaging visuals for our mobile game projects.
This role is ideal for an experienced illustrator with a strong sense of style, polish, and consistency, who enjoys working on live products and collaborating closely with designers, product managers, and engineers. You’ll be responsible for producing and refining illustration assets that elevate the visual quality of our games while supporting gameplay, usability, and performance.
You bring strong artistic judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to take ownership of your work from concept through final implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality 2D assets for in-game features, events, and live ops content
- Work closely with Art Direction, Product, and Design to align visuals with gameplay and player experience
- Maintain a consistent visual style across game features and content updates
- Produce concept art, sketches, and visual explorations to support new features and events
- Prepare production ready assets optimised for mobile performance and implementation
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers to support clear, readable, and engaging interfaces
- Iterate on assets based on feedback, playtests, and live performance data
- Help improve visual quality and efficiency by contributing to art guidelines and workflows
- Support junior artists through feedback and example-setting
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Strong experience as a 2D Illustrator in games or interactive products
- Excellent illustration skills with a strong understanding of colour, composition, lighting, and style consistency
- Experience creating assets for mobile games, preferably free-to-play
- Ability to take ownership of tasks and deliver polished work with minimal supervision
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Proficiency with industry-standard tools (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma)
- Experience working on live games or live-ops content is a strong asset
- A strong portfolio demonstrating illustration quality and versatility

Clipwire Games provides a competitive total compensation package with a pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this Canada based position is $60,000 to $110,000. Base compensation at Clipwire is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. It will also be determined based on the position offered and any other forms of compensation that may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and other benefits.
