Role Overview

We are looking for a talented and collaborative Game Animator to join our team and help bring characters, props, and gameplay interactions to life. In this role, you will work closely with Artists, Designers, Technical Artists, and Engineers to create polished and optimized animations for mobile games.

You will be responsible for producing high-quality animations, supporting rigging and implementation workflows, and ensuring animations feel responsive, appealing, and aligned with the overall game vision.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and implement 3D animations for characters, props, and interactive elements, including idle, movement, combat, and UI-related animations.
• Rig and skin characters and assets when needed, ensuring clean deformation and efficient setups.
• Collaborate with Technical Artists to ensure animations are optimized for mobile performance and function correctly in Unity.
• Integrate animations into the game engine, set up Animator Controllers, and support basic animation state machines.
• Work closely with Designers and Producers to iterate on animations based on gameplay needs and player experience feedback.
• Maintain consistency in animation quality, style, timing, and polish across the project.
• Troubleshoot animation, rigging, and implementation issues directly in-engine.
• Follow project pipelines, technical requirements, file structures, and naming conventions.
• Contribute to improving animation workflows and best practices within the team.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Art, Design, Engineering, and QA teams throughout development.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

• 3+ years of experience as a Game Animator.
• Strong understanding of animation principles, including timing, spacing, weight, anticipation, and polish.
• Proficiency in 3D animation tools such as Blender, Maya, or equivalent software.
• Experience with character rigging and skinning workflows.
• Familiarity with Unity animation systems, Animator Controllers, and basic state machines.
• Understanding of optimization techniques for mobile game performance.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Designers, Artists, Technical Artists, Engineers, and Producers.
• Strong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting animation and rigging issues in-engine.
• Ability to follow production pipelines, naming conventions, and technical constraints.
• Good communication skills and openness to feedback and iteration.
• Experience working on stylized or casual mobile games is a plus.
• Knowledge of Spine 2D animation is a plus.
