Description
XTEND is seeking a highly autonomous and exceptionally talented AI & Robotics Research & Exploration Specialist. This role is dedicated to AI driven product exploration and rapid prototyping. Conceptualize and build functional MVPs that push the boundaries of our XOS robotics ecosystem based on XTEND’s Autonomy Roadmap. The ideal candidate is a prolific builder and "tinkerer" with deep expertise in software, AI, and computer vision, capable of translating novel concepts into structured, demonstrable prototypes.
Key Responsibilities
- Rapid MVP Development: Design and develop functional, proof-of-concept prototypes integrating AI (Foundational models \ VLA \ LLMs \ ML ), computer vision, 3D algorithms, and robotics systems.
- Structured Handoffs: Architect all prototype software with a focus on structural clarity, clean logic, and comprehensive documentation to ensure seamless transfer to the Production Engineering team for scaling.
- Advanced Tool Utilization: Leverage both traditional engineering methodologies and modern AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate development cycles and system design.
Requirements
- Core Technical Expertise: Deep, demonstratable knowledge of Computer Vision, 3D algorithms, and overall robotics architecture.
- Proof of Execution: A strong portfolio of functional projects. Candidates must provide tangible proof of their ability to build complex systems from scratch (e.g., active GitHub repositories, indie projects, hackathon builds, or functional prototypes).
- Software Proficiency: Exceptional software engineering skills with the ability to build robust system architectures, prioritizing software logic over hardware assembly.
- Adaptability: Highly open-minded, multi-versed, and capable of pivoting quickly across different technical domains as exploration priorities shift.
