Application Support Engineer - Java

This role has been designed as ‘Hybrid’ with an expectation that you will work on average 2-3 days per week from an HPE office.

Job Description:

As an Application Support Engineer - Java you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance for Hybris Services platforms. This role involves troubleshooting, issue resolution, and collaborating with various teams to ensure the optimal performance and stability of the Hybris environment and related java applications. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of applications built on Java, Spring, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced support environment.

Key responsabilities:

Incident Management and Resolution:

  • Drive vendor teams to respond to and resolve Level 2 and Level 3 support issues related to the Hybris e-commerce platform and Java/J2EE applications.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot technical problems to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Address and resolve Level 4 incidents (minor enhancements) on timely basis

Performance Monitoring:

  • Monitor the performance and availability of the Hybris environment and Java application on Apache, Tomcat environment
  • Proactively identify and address potential performance bottlenecks and system issues.
  • Implement performance tuning and optimization strategies.
  • Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions for knowledge sharing.
  • Work closely with development teams, other interfacing application teams and infra teams to address and resolve issues promptly.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and discussions to improve system reliability.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements

Hybris Configuration:

  • Assist in the configuration and customization of the Hybris platform based on client requirements.
  • Collaborate with developers to implement changes and updates to the Hybris system.
  • Ensure proper functioning of the Hybris architecture and related components.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5 years hands on experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience in supporting Java, Spring
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated influencing skills, high level of technical and team leadership skills.
  • Understanding of GITHUB, Docker, Monitoring Tool such as NewRelic, Dynatrace, SAP Wily Introscope, Kafka, CI-CD
  • A successful person in this role will have excellent business acumen and extensive experience in supporting to solve business problems and help HPE transform the service business
  • Desired: Experience with performance monitoring and tuning of Hybris applications.
