Infrastructure Engineer

This role has been designed as ‘Hybrid’ with an expectation that you will work on average 2-3 days per week from an HPE office.

Designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs infrastructure solutions and enhancements to support new products. Develops cyber secure solutions that provide high availability infrastructure solutions, documents solutions provided, define support model and perform analysis on currently deployed solutions. The successful candidate will have the ability to manage hardware, networking, multiple operating systems (Windows/Linux) and VMware virtualization

Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. May act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision making process. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution. Ability to handle most unique situations. May seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues.

In a typical day as a Infrastructure Engineer, you would...

• Designs enhancements, updates, and infrastructure changes for portions and subsystems of existing deployed infrastructure ecosystem including operating systems, networking, virtualization and hardware.

• Analyzes design and determines implementation approach and validation activities required based on general objectives and knowledge of overall architecture of product or solution.

• Writes and executes complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of infrastructure; identifies, debugs, and creates solutions for issues with infrastructure and integration into existing architecture.

• Project team member who engages directly with external manufacturing partners infrastructure engineers to deploy new infrastructure, debug currently deployed infrastructure and maintain deployed solutions.

• Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development, HPE IT and NPI partners regarding infrastructure systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution.

• Represents the infrastructure engineering team for all phases of larger and more-complex development projects.

• Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.

What you need to bring:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.

• Typically 4-6 years experience.

• Designing VMware based infrastructure solutions running on multiple platform types.

• Expertise in multiple operating systems and hardware platforms.

• Extensive experience with Linux.

• Extensive experience with Windows.

• CCNA certification (nice to have).

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

• Infrastructure automation methodology, including writing and execution of automation test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.

• Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at management levels.
