We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Level 3 MSSQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to lead our database administration team. In this role, you will be responsible for the overall strategy, design, implementation, and optimization of our SQL Server environment. You will provide expert guidance and support to the Level 2 DBAs and work closely with other IT professionals to ensure the scalability, security, and performance of our databases.
What you’ll do:
Develop and implement a comprehensive database management strategy
Design, implement and manage high availability and disaster recovery solutions
Perform database performance tuning and optimization
Lead and mentor Level 2 DBAs
Manage complex database migrations and upgrades
Automate database administration tasks using scripting
Database environment assessments
Trend analysis and recommendations
Database cost optimizations
Stay up-to-date on the latest SQL Server technologies and trends
Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs for the DBA team
Advise on database security best practices and ensure compliance with regulations
What you need to bring:
Minimum 7-10 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
In-depth knowledge of SQL Server architecture, functionality, and best practices
Expert skills in T-SQL scripting and performance optimization techniques
Experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions for SQL Server
Strong understanding of database security principles and compliance requirements
Proven leadership and mentoring skills
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience with database performance tuning tools
Experience with database HA & DR solutions (Log shipping, Mirroring, Always on AG, Clustering etc.
Experience with database migration methodologies
Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell)
Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Azure SQL Database)
