Job Description:

HPIB (an Irish registered bank) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and provides leasing and loan solutions to HPE customers across Europe. HPIB is seeking to hire a regulatory reporting syndication accountant.

Job Description: As a Syndication Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing financial operations related to HPIB’s syndication and lease sell-down agreements. You will work closely with the finance and operations teams to ensure accurate accounting and regulatory reporting. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Design and implement accounting process and procedures to ensure accurate recording of leases and loans which are syndicated.
  • Review syndication agreements to ensure accurate accounting treatment and compliance with contractual terms.
  • Design and implement process and procedures to ensure that syndicated leases are appropriately recorded in monthly and quarterly regulatory reporting returns.
  • Engage with IT and the regulatory report system provider to optimise the use of systems.
  • Ensure reconciliations are performed to provide adequate oversight and control over the program.
  • Prepare financial analysis on syndication activities for inclusion in Board reporting.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations related to syndication transactions.
  • Collaborate with various teams, including finance, legal and operations to ensure alignment on syndication-related matters.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve syndication accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Work as part of regulatory team to proactively monitor upcoming changes to regulatory reporting and ensure the Bank is well-placed to respond
  • Respond to ad-hoc queries from regulators
  • Proactively engage with the Second Line of Defence and Internal Audit
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports for HPIB including prudential and statistical returns to the Central Bank of Ireland

Requirements

  • Syndication experience an advantage
  • Regulatory reporting experience an advantage
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CPA/CIMA)
