Job Description:

Hewlett Packard Enterprise intends to appoint a new Sales & Business Unit Director for the Data Services & Storage business in Germany. This role will report into the Senior Director for Data Services & Storage of the Central Europe Geography and be part of the German country leadership team working closely with the Managing Director and senior Sales and Business Unit leaders in Germany.

The key responsibilities are detailed below:

  • Accountable for HPE’s Data Services & Storage business in Germany with approximately 350M$ of yearly revenue across products and services. Owns the profit & loss, responsible for order growth and delivering revenue growth above the market.
  • Lead the German Storage salesforce with about 70+ Sales & Presales Specialists, while closely collaboration with Account Management, Digital/Inside Sales and other sales teams in and outside of Germany
  • Has ownership of overall sales strategy, cost optimisation and drives disciplined sales process management.
  • Ensures optimum sales coverage through direct and partner sales resources and different routes to markets, expanding HPE’s business with existing customers as well as winning net new accounts for HPE Storage
  • Develops the Business Units (BU) talent resources to support sales efforts.
  • Builds lasting, consultative relationships with key customer and partner accounts at Executive level.
  • Demonstrates in-depth Storage expertise. Provides external leadership to industry, community, press.
  • Creates a performance-driven culture with coaching at the heart.
  • Responsible for leading/managing sales, marketing, operational, and financial aspects of the Data Services & Storage business in Germany
  • Develop short, mid and long-term plans to achieve market growth, revenue, and operating profit goals.

Required Experience;

  • Transformational Sales Leadership – Experience in leading large sales organisations; Track record of transforming sales teams in times of changing markets with strong and new competition requiring new sales approaches; Motivating teams to question status quo and leave their comfort zone; Creating a hunting spirit and supporting 1st Sales Managers to lead and transform their teams
  • Strategic Sales Planning & Implementation - Provides input to the development of strategic sales plans that reflect the company's business strategy to advance market share/penetration and achieve profitable growth.
  • Budget Management & Cost Optimisation - Manages within set spending parameters to protect the company's business and sales assets and ensures their effective engagement.
  • P&L Management - Sets and manages the business investments and resource allocations essential to ensuring the financial growth of the business group.
  • Storage Industry Acumen – Multiple years of experience in the Storage Industry; Continues to maintain and develop a profound understanding of the industry and business dynamics, as a basis for informed business decision making.
  • C-Level Partnering and experience - Oversees the development and expansion of long-term executive relationships. Acts as the escalation point for customer issues.
  • Competitive Positioning/Strategy - Uses competitive intelligence in account planning and sales activities to develop counter-strategies that will neutralise competitive influence on the customer's buying decisions.
  • Solution Selling - Approaches selling from a business solution perspective to ensure that company products and services accurately address the client's true business need in terms of type, scope, level.
  • Business and Financial Acumen - Exhibits authoritative business and financial acumen to develop meaningful business recommendations; Understands the portfolio aspect of the company's products/services and how the businesses work together. Understands the balance sheet drivers of channel partners and balances with company requirements.
  • Leadership - Able to lead effectively in a complex and political environment, and deliver results; Able to influence without direct authority; Able to balance between competing priorities and be flexible and creative; Able to drive team performance to best in class; Able to create and build highly effective sales teams and organization; Able to communicate effectively across multiple levels in client organizations, the company and the industry.
  • Understands key requirements of Corporate governance.
