Job Description:

Job Family Definition:

Partners with R&D and New Product Introduction (NPI) Supply Chain groups to successfully introduce new products into world-wide production. Product Engineers interface with R&D, factory process engineering, Test Engineering and reliability engineering to solve product quality or yield problems. Responsible to sustain products through cost reductions seeking yield improvements. Analyzes samples of defective units/sub-assemblies, reports the results to the appropriate design engineering, manufacturing engineering, test engineering and quality engineering team(s) as well as to the manufacturing group or area and/or vendor where the issue occurred, and recommends or implements changes to the product or process as applicable.

Management Level Definition:

Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. Leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Acts as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies. Frequently represents the organization to external customers/clients. Exercises significant independent judgment to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. May provide mentoring and guidance to lower level employees.

In a typical day as a Product Engineer Electrical/Hardware– NPI/ Sustaining, you would...

  • Leads project teams of other product engineers and internal and outsourced development and manufacturing partners responsible for all stages from new product introduction through end of lifecycle for multiple products.

  • Manages and expands relationships with internal and outsourced partners for product manufacturing and development.

  • Reviews and evaluates product designs and project activities for compliance with manufacturing guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback based on results to improve product quality and mitigate risk of product failure.

  • Provides domain-specific expertise and overall product engineering leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.

  • Drives innovation and integration of new technologies and quality initiatives into projects and activities in the manufacturing engineering organization.

  • Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.

What you need to bring:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering, or equivalent.

  • At least 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry.

  • Strong knowledge of PCAs Troubleshooting and Manufacturing Processes.

  • Developed knowledge of product BOM and working knowledge with SAP.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience using engineering tools and software packages to troubleshoot, test and evaluate PCA products.

  • Evaluating forms of empirical analysis, modelling and testing methodologies to validate product designs and specifications.

  • Ability to effectively communicate project status and results, new project plans and proposals at senior management levels.

  • Ability to effectively communicate manufacturing architectures, plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options at senior management levels.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.

  • Scripting and Power BI knowledge for Data Analysis a Plus.

  • Experience with office productivity software such as MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, etc.
