Job Description:
As an HPC Data Center Program Manager, your responsibilities will include overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of high-performance computing (HPC) projects within a data center environment. This could involve tasks such as coordinating with stakeholders, managing resources, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets, reporting of project timelines and statuses, and implementing best practices for efficient operation and maintenance for the entire lifecycle of the HPC infrastructure.
This position will be responsible for overseeing projects for two sites and onsite presence is required. Candidates will need to be based in or willing to relocate to the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Responsibilities:
- Manages and leads a program involving multiple functions and project teams to drive the engineering development and implementation process for a product or service offering.
- Develops and directs development of schedules, critical deliverables, budget, resource allocation plan, and other support requirements for assigned program.
- Manages activities of supporting project teams and internal development partners; ensures progress against established plan and makes determinations based on analysis of business information to alter or update schedule and resource allocation to meet product requirements and development schedule.
- Communicates program progress, escalations, and issue analysis to product stakeholders; collaborates with management and internal manufacturing and development partners to recommend and implement changes to product, processes, or business practices to resolve escalated issues, produce solutions, and ensure adherence to budgets and established product roadmaps and schedules
- Drives innovation and integration of new technologies and quality initiatives into projects and activities in the manufacturing and/or engineering organization.
- Manages customer transformation program contract from business and delivery perspective
- Responsible of transformation program governance both towards customer & towards HPE management.
- In alignment with management priorities, be self-driven with an end-to-end focus on service quality and completeness to enhance the customer experience. Support escalation of issues to appropriate owner.
Education and Experience Required:
- Experience managing large-scale high-performance computing (HPC) deployment programs from project initiation, equipment procurement and reception, installation, and bring up and acceptance testing.
- Experience and strong hardware background and understanding of servers, storage, networking, and cabling (fiber optic and copper) in a data center environment.
- Experience successfully leading, managing, and reporting on large IT infrastructure projects with the ability to analyze and solve complex situations.
- Experience with planning requirements, managing schedules, and communicating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of large compute clusters.
- Experience with operational management tasks including, working to resolve escalations, and clearing blocking issues to enable continued delivery of HPC/datacenter support activities.
- Experience leading and managing complex programs and projects in the HPC/Datacenter/hardware environment.
- Typically 6+ years experience inclusive of program or project management or in similar roles/businesses.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Management, Engineering, Computer Sciences, or equivalent.
- PMP/PMI certification preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Extensive experience with using project and program planning tools and software packages (MS Project, Smartsheets, etc.) to create, manage, and track project results.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated business acumen and successful experience managing all aspects of programs, including communicating with stakeholders and directing matrixed teams and resources.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English.
- Ability to effectively communicate program plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options at senior management levels.
- Excellent communication, organizational, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work positively with the wide range of individuals involved in program management.
