Software Engineer in Test – Cloud Quality

This role has been designed as ‘Hybrid’ with an expectation that you will work on average 2-3 days per week from an HPE office.

Job Description:

What you'll do:

• Verify HPE’s cloud and virtualization product software at the functional level.

• Set up test configuration and validate functionalities of the on-premises server, storage and networking hardware.

• Create, execute, and automate API, UI, load, scale and reliability test cases, and report the test results.

• Work closely with development team and collaborate with other cross-functional teams including but not limited to Product Management, Customer Support and Platform Engineering.

What you’ll need:

• Knowledge of complete SDLC and experience in software testing methodology, tools, test planning and test execution.

• Strong coding skills.

• Strong knowledge of virtualization and cloud technologies.

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for performing root cause analysis.

• Ability to effectively work with stakeholders in multiple engineering teams for defect investigation, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective/preventative actions.

• Knowledge of tools and processes for functional testing of REST API and gRPC calls.

• Ability to write clear test specifications.

• Experience working in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.

• Self-motivated with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

What we’d prefer you bring:

• Ideal candidates will have at least 3-5 years of relevant experience in testing enterprise software and developing/supporting automation test framework from the ground up.

• Proficiency in programming in Python (Pytest, Playwright), Go, Java.

• Experience in the following areas/technologies:

REST APIs, gRPC, Web Applications

Virtual Machine, datacenter environments

Docker, Containerization, Microservices, Kubernetes

CI/CD, Git, GitHub, Jenkins

AWS, GCP, Azure

Linux/Unix environments

SQL/NoSQL DBs

USD Annual Salary: $117,500.00 - $270,000.00 Estimated job application period closure is April 2025.
