Job Description:

HPE Aruba Networking - Business Development Intern


Support to HPE Aruba Networking Business development team

What you’ll do :
• The Business development intern support a team of experts focussed on different Customer or Technology segments that we operate in.
• This support may include multiple different day to day activities from creating communications, reporting and analysing data, arranging events to preparing pricing.
• The role is flexible and will change during the year as the business evolves.


Reporting – be the central point of contact for reporting and analysis of business data for the team. Build capability to provide insights and recommendations on business analysis. Be the team expert on XLS and Power BI.


• Create and execute Power Bi business trackers: Refresh and update Executive Summary Dashboards and send current quarterly numbers to key stakeholders with analysis. Use file to respond to Ad-hoc SMB requests from Distributors and Partners. Track linear performance on sellout to targets vs forecasts and budget.


• Market share and sellout analysis: Utilise Context sellout data and portal to analyse market and ad hoc requests from BDM / Sales teams


• Distributor Data: Provide data for distributors by refreshing and presenting monthly business analysis per partner. Share at monthly distribution meetings with distribution manager. Respond to ad-hoc distributor requests including share, sellout, top selling products.


• Masterfile – Communicate to team on update: Refresh and update Business data Masterfile. This report provides updated data on key business metrics, top resellers, Top selling sku’s, Products line analysis. This file is used extensively by different monthly processes.

• SMB inventory planner for distribution: Transactional product stock planning for driving target weeks of inventory. Identify potential aged inventory opportunities over 4 / 6 weeks.

• Rebate vs Upfront reporting by Distribution: Orders placed upfront /rebates

Communications
• Manage process for update and communications to internal and external stakeholders
• WIN with HPE Aruba Networking – promotions, programmes, events etc
• Product lifecycle change - new product introductions / End of Sales.
• Availability of stock reports - Report on availability of current stock and lead times to both internal and external clients

Pricing


• The BDM intern is responsible for high touch pricing requests; this requires access to the pricing systems to support the business.


• Aged Inventory: Inventory at our distribution partners is critical, keeping this fresh and cleaning it up regularly is critical to keeping the business process running smoothly. Manage monthly aged stock process through analysis of requested sku’s, margin and discounts, and creation of OPG’s. Report on Aged Stock sellout through refreshing Aged Sellout file monthly (after OPG’s have been sent out)


• List Price File: Report on changes in EMEA list price for UK&I and calculate NDP prices for Sku’s. Create List of New and Removed sku’s through analysis of previous list price. Ad-Hoc - SMB competitive pricing and website analysis, Context portal AUP analysis.


Other activities
• Volunteering / Charity Executive Sponsorship Program
• Collaborate with other interns to organise quarterly charity initiatives and events
• Opportunity to get involved in volunteering activities
• Support Other Interns
• Integration with other HPE Aruba interns – cross role systems support for holiday back up.
• Admin – some administration is required/Internal orders – on behalf of Aruba employees, TRF’s - Organise delivery and collection of equipment through collaboration with Goods In

What you’ll need:

  • Potential interns must be in their 2nd year of a four-year degree which requires (or has an option for) 3rd year to be a one year's industrial placement, and are expected to achieve a minimum of a 2:1 grade

  • You must be eligible to work in the UK and be available to commence the placement at the beginning of July 2025 for 13 months.

  • You'll have self-motivation to work independently, be confident in your resourcefulness, but aware when you need to ask for help and guidance

  • You will have good time management and organisational skills while being structured in your approach

  • You'll be adaptable in handling new and evolving requirements, and comfortable working under tight timescales

  • Be prepared to travel when necessary

  • Show creativity in approaching projects and bold in asking questions

  • Exceptional written, visual and oral communication skills and comfortable talking to people of all seniority levels

  • Team oriented and collaborative mindset.
