Innovation Engineering AI Intern

This role has been designed as ‘’Onsite’ with an expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE office.

What you'll do:

Our Hybrid Cloud Innovation Engineering team turns AI prototypes - spanning agents, generative models, and RAG pipelines - into production-ready offerings.

During your internship you will:

• Design, build and iterate on AI agents and workflows using frameworks like LangChain

• Develop end-to-end generative AI (LLM) applications

• Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems: data ingestion, embedding generation, vector stores and retrievers

• Containerize Python-based AI services with Docker and deploy to Kubernetes clusters

• Integrate microservices patterns and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure or GCP)

• Collaborate in Agile ceremonies - standups, sprint planning, code reviews - and demo prototypes to stakeholders

What you’ll need:

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or related technology

• Strong Python skills and hands-on experience with AI libraries

• Practical knowledge of generative AI / LLMs and RAG architectures

• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)

• Exposure to cloud infrastructure services (compute, storage, networking) on AWS, Azure or GCP

• Understanding of microservices design, RESTful APIs and version control (Git)

• Work in a Hybrid environment with at least 2-3 days in the office per week

• Ability to prototype rapidly & thrive under pressure in a fast paced environment

• Excellent communication skills, self-motivation and a collaborative mindset in hybrid teams

• Demonstrated passion for AI through personal projects, hackathons or open source contributions

• Good time management and project management skills
