We are seeking a skilled L2 Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) and Linux Operations Engineer to support and maintain hyper-converged infrastructure platforms and Linux environments. The ideal candidate will handle day-to-day operations, troubleshoot moderately complex issues, and collaborate with L3 engineers and other IT teams to ensure system reliability and performance. This role requires a solid technical foundation in VMware, Nutanix, VxRail, HPE Simplivity, and Linux systems, along with excellent communication skills to provide responsive support and contribute to ongoing infrastructure improvements.

What you'll do:

Infrastructure Support and Maintenance:

  • Assist in the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of Simplivity, Nutanix, VxRail, and Linux environments based on established designs and best practices.
  • Perform routine checks and maintenance on virtualization platforms, Linux systems, storage, and networking components to ensure smooth operations.

Troubleshooting and Incident Resolution:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex issues related to hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI), Linux servers, VMware ESXi, vSphere, and vCenter.
  • Investigate and resolve incidents related to storage, networking, plugins, and Linux system performance under the ITIL Incident Management process.
  • Escalate unresolved or complex issues to L3 engineers, providing detailed documentation of findings and actions taken.

System Monitoring and Optimization:

  • Monitor HCI and Linux environments using tools like VMware vCenter, Nutanix Prism, or Linux system monitoring utilities to proactively identify performance bottlenecks or potential issues.
  • Conduct basic performance tuning and optimization for Linux servers, virtualization platforms, and HCI components.

Configuration and Integration Assistance:

  • Assist with configuring and integrating HCI solutions such as Simplivity, Nutanix, and VxRail with third-party backup, disaster recovery, and monitoring systems.
  • Support basic Linux system configurations, including user management, file system structures, and network settings.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with L3 engineers, network, security, and application teams to ensure seamless operation and integration of infrastructure components.
  • Provide responsive technical support to end-users and teams, ensuring timely resolution of requests and incidents.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain documentation related to HCI and Linux infrastructure, including standard operating procedures, troubleshooting steps, and system configurations.
  • Provide periodic reports on system performance and incident resolution activities.

Compliance and Security:

  • Ensure adherence to established security practices and compliance standards for HCI and Linux environments.
  • Follow change management processes to implement infrastructure updates and changes safely.

Continuous Learning:

  • Stay updated on basic industry trends and developments in hyper-converged infrastructure and Linux technologies.
  • Participate in training sessions or certifications to improve technical knowledge and skills.

What you need to bring:

  • Working knowledge of VMware ESXi, vSphere, and vCenter, particularly in troubleshooting storage, networking, and plugin-related issues.

  • Proficiency in Linux system administration, including basic file system management, user management, performance monitoring, and network configuration.
  • Familiarity with HCI platforms such as Dell VxRail, Nutanix AHV/AOS, and HPE Simplivity.
  • Ability to identify and resolve moderately complex technical issues and escalate more advanced problems to L3 engineers as needed.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide end-user support effectively.

  • Dell EMC VxRail : D-VXR-DY-01 or D-VXR-OE-23
  • Linux Certification
